Our Story

It all begins with a vision. Our story begins over 8 years ago when our founder, Maggie, was 15 years old with a vision to create opportunities through education. Born in a rural village in Dawu, Hubei, she was adopted at 18 months old and grew up in America. From a young age, Maggie knew her “why” and understood education’s power in changing lives. At the heart of our mission lives our values of honesty, compassion, innovation, and empowerment.

We are on a mission to increase global access to education infrastructure by building 3D printed schools with communities in developing countries where they are needed most.

Our Work

Of the 61 million out-of-school children, 34 million live in sub-Saharan Africa.

In Madagascar, 45% of kids are not enrolled in school.

We serve families making less than $3/day and communities where only 1 in 3 children attend beyond primary school.

It’s All in the Details

Our schools seek to blend with local culture by involving a hybrid design of 3D printed walls and locally sourced materials, such as carved rosewood doors by Ambositra artisans. Our inspiration is drawn from the beehive — at the heart of our work is community and similar to a beehive, we only succeed when everyone works together to see it thrive.

By working together with people on the ground and employing locals, we create impact at scale by bringing together all the partners, communities, students, and teachers to achieve our moonshot vision.

Why 3D Printing?

Traditional construction methods take months or even years. 3D printing decreases construction time from months to weeks and reduces construction waste. As we achieve economies of scale, we aim to cut costs in half.
The more we print, the less expensive replication will be as we continue to perfect our supply chain.
