Our October Update
Happy October!
It is incredible to think about how much progress we have made since we first started our newsletter. With your support, we have significant updates to share on the build plans for our first 3D printed school. We broke ground for the foundation this month and have been informed that Madagascar has plans to start lifting travel restrictions. Our pilot is anticipated to be built in December if all goes to plan. Currently, we are navigating how to transport the printer and 3D technicians from Malawi to Madagascar. If the borders are not open, the project will be completed in April after the rainy season.
Despite these potential challenges, the Thinking Huts team is staying resilient! We are encouraged by all the support you have shown along this journey. We can also share that our architects, structural engineers, and Madagascar volunteer team are hard at work volunteering their time as we continue planning a remote implementation with our local construction engineers.
We are excited to see our vision come to life!

We want to highlight the efforts of Team MBRC (Manhattan Beach Run Club). The group ran the Malibu Triathlon and plan to run in the Iron Man California later this month. It is an incredible accomplishment to run these triathlons, let alone using their platform to support Thinking Huts. Thank you, Team MBRC! Check out Team MBRC’s feature on our website HERE.

Crowdfunding Campaign Update
The GoFundMe charity platform was disabled on September 30. Due to this, we are migrating our fundraising campaign to the Funraise platform. You can help us fundraise with a team or individually to ensure that we can continue our work. Spotted in the news: a story about 3D printed housing in the New York Times, featuring NewStory, a fellow nonprofit we greatly admire. Each day we work towards catalyzing innovation where it is needed most.
